Five Days Missing

On November 5, 1975, Travis Walton and six fellow loggers were working in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona when they encountered a large, glowing disc hovering above the trees. Walton approached the craft and was struck by a beam of light. His colleagues fled in panic. Walton was missing for five days before reappearing disoriented near a highway, claiming to have been aboard the craft.

All six crew members passed polygraph tests about witnessing the initial encounter. Walton's account, published in The Walton Experience (1978) and dramatised in Fire in the Sky (1993), remains one of the most investigated abduction cases on record.

Credibility and Controversy

Walton has maintained his account consistently for five decades. While skeptics have proposed alternative explanations, the multiple witnesses to the initial encounter — all of whom passed polygraphs — make dismissal difficult. Walton continues to speak about the event and has participated in formal investigations and documentaries.
